Soft Pastels for Soft Realism
Soft Pastels are one of my favorites The Velour surface I use for this medium allows the works to have an inherent softness to them, which lends itself well to soft subjects such as furred animals.
I prefer Rembrandt pastels and Hahnemühle velour surfaces.
